Haide setup, pricing, and troubleshooting FAQs

How much does Haide AI Call Assistant cost, including provider API usage?

At present, Haide includes a 30-day free trial and then requires a $30 AUD one-time license. There is no Haide subscription. Provider API usage is billed directly to your own AssemblyAI, OpenAI, and optional Cerebras accounts. Provider pricing, free tiers, model availability, and billing rules are subject to change, so check those providers before relying on usage estimates. Typical cost These estimates are based on provider pricing at the time of writing and may change. A typical 30-minute Haide call is often around $0.08-$0.12 in direct API usage after free transcription hours. During the AssemblyAI free-hours period, many calls cost only OpenAI/Cerebras usage, usually less than $0.01-$0.02. For comparison, AWS Transcribe standard streaming is about $0.72 for a 30-minute call, and that is transcription only.

Does Haide AI Call Assistant run on macOS or Linux?

Haide AI Call Assistant currently runs on Windows PCs. Native macOS and Linux versions are not currently available. Install the Windows version and follow the setup guide to configure audio routing before your first call.

Do I need a PayPal account to buy a Haide license?

Haide uses PayPal checkout for license purchases. Credit or debit card checkout may be available without a PayPal account, depending on the options PayPal presents for your location and transaction. Review the available payment methods during checkout before completing your purchase.

What is included in the Haide 30-day free trial?

The Haide AI Call Assistant trial gives you access to every application feature for 30 days. Install the Windows app, configure audio routing and your own provider API keys, and test transcription and suggestions with your documents. Provider API usage is separate from the free application trial. A $30 AUD one-time license is required to continue using Haide after the trial.

Where does Haide store my documents, and which data reaches AI providers?

Haide AI Call Assistant stores and searches your selected knowledge documents locally on your Windows PC. Local semantic search retrieves relevant excerpts for document-grounded suggestions. Live transcription sends routed call audio directly to AssemblyAI. Document-grounded suggestions send question text and relevant document context directly to OpenAI. Optional Cerebras suggestions use question text without searching your documents. These requests do not pass through a Haide-operated call-processing server; the providers receive and process the data needed for their services.

How do I add my own knowledge documents to Haide AI Call Assistant?

Prepare .txt files containing the information you want Haide to retrieve, such as project experience, interview examples, product notes, FAQs, or procedures. Select the documents folder in Haide Settings and save your settings to embed the files. Click Embed whenever you add, remove, or change documents. Clear Q&A pairs using Q: and A: can help keep related information together. Avoid putting passwords, API keys, or sensitive personal or customer information in your knowledge files.

What is the difference between OpenAI and Cerebras suggestions in Haide?

Haide uses OpenAI for document-grounded suggestions: it searches your local knowledge base and sends relevant excerpts with the question to OpenAI. Cerebras is an optional speed-first suggestion path that uses the live question text and does not search your documents. Enable the provider paths you need by saving their API keys in Haide Settings.

Why does Haide AI Call Assistant need VB-CABLE for call audio?

VB-CABLE routes the audio from your calling application into Haide for live transcription. Set the calling app speaker or output device to VB-CABLE Input. To keep hearing the caller, enable Listen to this device in VB-CABLE Output properties and select your headphones or speakers for playback. The illustrated setup guide covers Windows audio settings and examples for supported calling apps.

How do I stop Haide transcription and avoid continued API usage?

Click STOP in Haide AI Call Assistant when your call or test finishes. If transcription stays active, routed audio may continue to be processed and billed by your AI provider. Stop the session before leaving the app unattended and check your provider dashboard if you notice unexpected usage.

Does the Haide license guarantee support, maintenance, or updates?

The Haide one-time license does not include a guaranteed support, maintenance, or update period. Support and updates may be provided when available. You can submit a question through the support form or email haide@cybercomsms.com; response times may vary.

Why is no live transcript appearing in Haide?

In Haide AI Call Assistant, confirm that your AssemblyAI API key is saved and START has been clicked. Check that VB-CABLE is installed, VB-CABLE Output appears in Windows recording devices, and your calling app sends audio to VB-CABLE Input. Also check Windows microphone permissions and that audio is playing during your test. If the settings are correct, check whether your network, VPN, firewall, or antivirus is blocking the connection to the transcription provider.

Why can I no longer hear the caller after setting up VB-CABLE?

When a calling app sends audio to VB-CABLE Input, you must also route playback to your headphones or speakers. Open Windows Sound settings, find VB-CABLE Output under recording devices, open Properties, and enable Listen to this device. Select your headphones or speakers under Playback through this device. Use headphones if you hear echo or feedback.

Why is Retrieved Knowledge empty in Haide AI Call Assistant?

Check that your knowledge files use the .txt format and that the correct documents folder is selected in Haide Settings. Click Embed after adding, changing, or removing files. Test with a question related to information in those files. The Retrieved Knowledge view shows results from local document search. The optional Cerebras suggestion path does not search your documents; use the OpenAI path for document-grounded suggestions.

How do I activate my Haide license after buying it?

Open Haide AI Call Assistant on your Windows PC and click Activate License. Enter the username and password for the account used to purchase the license, then click Get License. If activation fails, contact support with your purchase email and the error message. Do not include your password or provider API keys.

Which calling apps can I use with Haide AI Call Assistant?

Haide works alongside calling applications whose audio can be routed through VB-CABLE, including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, MicroSIP, Webex, and browser-based calls. Configure the calling app output or Windows per-app audio output to use VB-CABLE Input, then run a test call to check transcription and caller playback.

Does Haide AI Call Assistant work without an internet connection?

Haide stores and searches your knowledge documents locally, but live transcription and AI-generated suggestions require an internet connection to the configured providers. AssemblyAI processes transcription, OpenAI generates document-grounded suggestions, and optional Cerebras generates speed-first suggestions. Local document storage does not make these provider features offline.

Which languages does Haide AI Call Assistant support?

Haide AI Call Assistant is currently optimized for English-language calls. If you need another language, contact support to discuss your requirements before relying on Haide for that conversation.

How can I prepare Haide for a specific interview or sales call?

Create a folder of .txt notes relevant to the conversation: your projects and experience for an interview, or product details and customer questions for a sales call. Select that folder in Haide Settings and embed the files. Tailor Assistant Instructions to the role, company, or task, and keep the {context} placeholder where retrieved document knowledge should appear. Test with representative questions before the call.

Why are Haide AI suggestions not appearing even though transcription works?

Check that the API key for your chosen suggestion provider is saved in Haide Settings and that the provider account has access to the required service. For OpenAI document-grounded suggestions, also check that your notes have been embedded. Suggestions are generated during pauses in speech, so allow the speaker to finish a question during your test. Check for provider errors or network restrictions if no suggestion appears.

What information should I include in a Haide support request?

Describe what you were trying to do, what happened, and any error message. Include your Windows version, calling app, the affected feature, and the troubleshooting steps you have tried. For purchase or activation issues, include your purchase email. Do not send account passwords, provider API keys, private call transcripts, or confidential knowledge documents.
